We officially retired on Dec 1, 2017 a little short of 2 years after our successful practice run in 2015.
Our plan is to winter somewhere warm (and I mean warmer than north Texas, not warmer than southern Ontario) since Dessa strongly dislikes the cold and then spend the summer and fall in our RV avoiding really hot Texas summers. In other words slowly heading north in the late spring and returning south in the late fall attempting to keep the daily temperature between the low 70’s and upper 80’s. The exception to this plan is regular trips home to visit our grand children, said trips according to Dessa will be no more than 12 weeks apart.
Along the way we plan to explore the world, take lots of photos and hopefully provide some entertaining reading about our travels. A couple of additional notes:
- According to my Mom, Dessa has taken all of our pictures. In reality a few of them are mine, maybe not the best ones but still…
- We don’t get home to Canada very often so Family Photo albums are mostly of Dessa’s side of our family with a growing emphasis on our 3 wonderful grandchildren – Hunter, Maverick and Elderly.
Our Travel Blog actually began when we both took a Leave of Absence to go walkabout between Nov 2014 and Jan 2016 . That blog was published on TravelPod which has since shutdown. We took that as a sign that we should go big which led to this site. We will be recreating that previous blog here (eventually). In the mean time, enjoy our more recent travels.
